KAREN MORÁN RIVERA
I am a research assistant in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. I work in the Crow Lab where my research focuses on soil health, agricultural sustainability, and economics.
I am passionate about soils and economics. My fascination with soils emerged from the love for complex systems underlying soil organic matter and my fascination with economics emerged from the love for challenges, such as translating these complex systems to dollar units.
Areas of interest: agriculture, soils, agroecosystem models, economics, and public policy.
Skills: agroecosystem models, ecological modeling, soil sampling, laboratory.
